Veteran Employment Preference Policy

Veteran Employment Preference Policy

Purpose
This policy establishes a voluntary veteran‑preference program consistent with Texas Labor Code Chapter 23, Section 23.002.

Policy Statement
5×5 Brewing Co. LLC may give preference in employment decisions—including hiring, promotion, and retention—to veterans over other qualified applicants or employees, as permitted by Texas law.

Definitions
For purposes of this policy, a “veteran” is an individual who has served in the United States Armed Forces and has been discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.

Application of Preference

  • When two or more applicants or employees are substantially equally qualified, 5×5 Brewing Co. LLC may choose to give preference to a veteran.
  • The preference is not automatic; it is applied at the employer’s discretion and only within the scope allowed by Texas Labor Code §23.002.

Documentation
Veterans seeking preference may be asked to provide documentation of qualifying service (e.g., DD‑214 or equivalent).

Notice to State Agencies (Optional)
5×5 Brewing Co. LLC may provide notice to the Texas Workforce Commission or Texas Veterans Commission that this policy has been adopted, as permitted by Texas Labor Code §23.002(c)

Equal Employment Opportunity
This policy operates within the framework of all applicable federal and state nondiscrimination laws. Veteran preference does not permit decisions based on protected characteristics unrelated to veteran status.

Effective Date
This policy is effective as of: October 1, 2026.
