In the military, a mission isn’t finished just because conditions get tough. You regroup, adjust the plan, and move forward.
That’s what 5×5 Brewing Co. has done. This year tested us, and we’re still here. Now we’re building a new home in downtown Edinburg.
New Brewery in Edinburg, TX
On October 26, 2026, we joined the City of Edinburg and the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation to announce our new brewing location at 517 W. McIntyre Street, near Edinburg City Hall. Until then, the project had been known only as “Project 25,” a nod to five multiplied by five.
The new facility will be about 8,000 square feet. It will combine beer production with a restaurant, a taproom, an outdoor patio, and space for live entertainment.
As we have throughout the initial phase of this project, we want to thank Edinburg Mayor Omar Ochoa, Edinburg EDC Executive Director Raudel Garza, and our other community partners who made the project possible.
Why we’re building
First and foremost, this is a production facility. The new building will expand our brewing capacity so more 5×5 beer can reach stores, bars, and restaurants across the Rio Grande Valley and, over time, the rest of Texas and beyond. Growing our distribution is still our top priority. The new brewery gives that work a permanent home base in the Valley we’ve served since day one.
Since day one, our goal has been to produce beers that represent the fighting spirit of our fellow veterans and to showcase the Rio Grande Valley to the rest of the world.
What’s planned for the new 5×5
When it’s finished, the new home of 5×5 will be more than a brewery. Plans include:
-
Expanded brewing capacity to support distribution growth
-
An elevated indoor taproom with a wide selection of beers on tap
-
A kitchen focused on food pairings, with plans to source poultry, fish, beef, and other ingredients from local producers as much as possible
-
An outdoor patio and bar
-
A large entertainment venue for concerts and special events
We also want the space to keep supporting the people who make up our story: military veterans, first responders, and local nonprofits. We plan to do that through concerts and special events.
A home for veteran-owned craft beer in Edinburg
People with military backgrounds founded 5×5. Our name comes from radio language: “five by five” means a signal is coming through loud and clear. That idea still guides how we work. We aim to be clear about who we are, dependable in what we brew, and committed to our community.
As a veteran-owned brewery in Edinburg, we’re proud to help build something new downtown: a place where neighbors, students, families, veterans, and visitors can come together over local beer, good food, and live music.
Where things stand now
Our new Edinburg taproom is under construction and is not yet open.
We plan to hold our groundbreaking ceremony and begin construction before the end of the month. We’ll share progress along the way, including construction milestones, behind-the-scenes looks at the build, and the decisions shaping the space.
Find 5×5 now
You don’t have to wait for the taproom to drink 5×5. The Core Four is already available throughout the Rio Grande Valley:
-
Los Vaqueros Blood Orange Kölsch – Crisp, refreshing, and mission-ready with bright blood orange, smooth malt, and a clean finish.
-
Brunette Bombshell Honey Brown Ale – Smooth, malty, and reporting for duty with rich caramel, burnt sugar, and dark fruit character.
-
Moore Field Blonde – Light, crisp, and cleared for duty with smooth malt, subtle citrus, and an easy-drinking finish.
-
FUBARR Irish Red – Bold, rich, and ready for action with smooth honey, chocolate, caramel, and plenty of character.
Every 5×5 you buy at a local store, bar, or restaurant helps power the next mission.
